Fellowship for medtech & digital health innovators

The CAS provides 12 healthcare intra- and entrepreneurs with design thinking and business strategy tools and is co-taught by Stanford Biodesign Faculty. In startup like project groups, participants will learn hands-on to identify a major market opportunity and invent a novel, scalable medical device or digital health solution.

Participants will benefit from clinical immersion at Balgrist University hospital, expert coaching by top tier medtech innovators and startup managers, and an exclusive international network. The curriculum covers the Biodesign innovation process, market research, design thinking workshops, regulatory, reimbursement, intellectual property and business strategy coaching.

In order to benefit from the ‘SHS Swiss Biodesign fellowship’ worth CHF 7'800 (to participate at CHF 4'000 vs. the standard rate of CHF 11'800), applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be an SHS member

  • Early career-stage with max. 5 years of work experience in startups, research, clinics, medtech, pharma, IT or consulting companies

  • Successfully completed Bachelor, Master or MD degree and first international experience

  • Demonstrated academic, intra- or entrepreneurial excellence

  • Strong interest in radically innovating medical devices or digital health
