Webinar “Exploring the World of Biocompatibility” highlights the fundamentals for biological evaluation of medical devices including categorization of devices, factors impacting biocompatibility and the corresponding assessment strategy, and examples of the most common test methods. The presentation is given by Dr. Silvio Peng, an expert in the field of biocompatibility, cleanliness and related topics with more than a decade of expertise in the medical device industry.

Dr Silvio Peng - Senior Consultant, Operations at Congenius AG

Dr Silvio Peng studied biology at ETH Zurich (BSc, MSc, PhD) with a focus on microbiology before entering the medical device industry a decade ago. During his ten years in the industry, he has gained diverse knowledge related to biological and chemical risks for medical devices including biocompatibility, cleanliness, reprocessing, and sterilization, as well as their connections to other fields including risk management, quality, research and development. Silvio has held several positions at well-known companies in the industry and has experience working with various categories of devices according to the ISO biocompatibility standard including orthopaedic devices, autoinjectors, and diabetes care devices.
